2008 Year in Review

2008 was a fantastic year for Valley View Acres. Our show team, in its inagual year, managed to gain the attention of many barns in Northern Illinois with the success we had! Throughout the show season, we saw many division champions and reserve champions along with all of our show team meeting and exceeding personal goals. Some goals were as simple as "just finishing" a mini-event to start, or to "just place" in a class or division: and we did that and then some! The Illinois Short Circuit Year End Awards Dinner showed the wold that we were ready to compeat with everyone!

Ariel and "She's All That"                                            Brenda and "My Cup of Tea"                                                                  Alexa and "Invincible"

                                                                                                                        Makenna and "Cover Girl"

Izzy and "Travis"                                                            Amber and "Atlanta"                                             Lea and "Locomotion"

Along with the show team's success, our breeding program gained world-wide attention with the addition of many fantastically colored foals! After the death of the famous Puchilingui late this past winter, Puchi's Last came to us as a spitting image of her dam, Saved. Perfectly Elusive was born on St. Patrick's day and elusive he was (he, he). Bobby Jenks proved to be one of the most special suprises of them all with his brilliant color pattern: the only colt in the WORLD with his color pattern (as a registered Jockey Club thoroughbred). Then, we had Illinois' first buckskin thoroughbred with Carter. Many students at Valley View got to witness his birth first hand as he was born at 4:20 pm on that July day!

Congratulations to everyone at Valley View!
